Yosemite - Fall Colors Workshop November, 2020

TWO sessions from which to choose:

Mon-Tues-Wed 11/2/20 to 11/4/20

AND

Fri-Sat-Sun 11/6/20 to 11/8/20

$750.00 per person, non-shooting guests welcome at no charge.

Session #1, 11/2/20 to 1/4/20

Session #2, 11/6/20 to 11/8/20

The brilliant fall colors of Yosemite.  Majestic oaks with their huge plumes of color, golden ferns that carpet the valley floor, and the dogwoods that line the riverbank.

Yosemite in fall is one of my favorite seasons.  No crowds, no traffic, no lines, no wating for anything!  Plus, this time of year storms can rage one day and be sunny the next giving us a variety of shooting conditions most people do not experience.

We'll shoot the valley and head up Glacier Point Road for Sentinel Dome sunset shoot, Glacier Point itself with a complete bird's eye view of Yosemite Valley, Washburn Point for the high country, Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall.

We might head up Tioga Road for a special sunset shot of the backside of Half Dome from Olmstead Point.

Yosemite - Winter
February, 2021

TWO sessions from which to choose:

Fri-Sat-Sun 2/19/21 to 2/21/21

AND

Tue-Wed-Thu 2/18/21 to 5/20/21

$750.00 per person, non-shooting guests welcome at no additional charge.

Session #1, Fri-Sat-Sun, 2/19/21 to 2/21/21

Session #2, Tue-Wed-Thu, 2/23/21 to 2/25/21

Winter in Yosemite is the season most people miss.

The crowds are gone, no waiting for anything!  Yet, winter storms can bring opportunities for shooting that are unequaled anywhere.  Snow can blanket the valley for gorgeous winter setups, ice hangs off the cliffs in patterns that make you glad you brought your 400mm lens.  The mist after a rain storm can bring mist that hangs off the cliffs and rocks for sunset shots you will not believe.

We will also try to shoot the famous Horsetail Fall that occurs during the last two weeks of February.  We'll avoid the crowds by going to places I have personally scouted for solitude and a view of the fall that no one else will see.  Although not guaranteed, if conditions allow for the maximum slendor of this effect, you will  ot believe your eyes as the waterfall changes color with the shifting position of the sun.

Lodging is less expensive and more readily available.

Yosemite - Early Spring Waterfalls May, 2021

TWO sessions from which to choose:
Mon-Tues-Wed
5/14/21 to 5/16/21

AND

Fri-Sat-Sun
5/18/21 to 5/20/21

$750.00 per person, non-shooting guests welcome at no charge.

Session #1, 5/14/21 to 5/16/21

Session #2, 5/18/21 to 5/20/21
Three full days shooting the incredible moving water phenomenon that occurs in spring. This is the season that Yosemite's Waterfalls are at their most spectacular. We'll do motion blur on some of the world's most beautiful and impressive waterfalls as well as the raging waters of the Merced River. I'll teach use of polarizers to deepen the colors of Yosemite Valley, and take you to photo vistas in areas not in the guidebooks! The oppressive crowds have not yet descended on Yosemite, so we will avoid the congestion.

It's not guaranteed, but often at this time Glacier Point Road is open allowing access to Glacier Point, Washburn Point, Sentinel Dome and Taft Point. If it's been a light snowpack year there's an outside chance the Tioga Road will be open giving us access to Tuolumne Meadows, Tioga Pass and the Yosemite high country. A short drrive from Tioga Pass is Mono Lake!

We'll also shoot other iconic locations in Yosemite Valley.
